What are Certified Reference Materials (CRM)?
Certified Reference Materials (commonly known as standards or controls) are fine-tuned batches of chemical materials used to check the accuracy of the equipment used for analysis in mineral testing laboratories. They are used both by commercial labs internally for the calibration their own mineral testing equipment as well as by mining companies as ‘known samples’ to ensure their testing service providers are supplying test results that are of a high degree of accuracy.
